Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Abalthiria.com collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you visit the site, create an account, participate in the community, connect supported third-party services, or use features such as Web Novel access and live-status indicators.
Information we collect
- Account information: email address, display name, public bio, email-verification state, authentication records, and secure session information used to provide account access.
- Community information: forum threads, posts, replies, reactions, moderation reports, profile information, and avatars you choose to submit. Content intended for public areas of the site may be visible to other visitors.
- Connected-service information: identifiers and status information needed when you explicitly connect services such as Discord or Patreon. Patreon connection data is used to determine supporter access. Abalthiria does not receive your Patreon email through the supporter-linking flow.
- Web Novel engagement counts: chapter views are privacy-first aggregate counters. The server stores the chapter identifier, aggregate count, and the timestamp of the most recent qualifying read for that chapter. A browser-local timestamp is used to avoid counting the same browser again for 24 hours. The chapter-view counter does not store an IP address, identity, cookie identifier, fingerprint, or reading history.
- Operational information: hosting and security providers may process ordinary request information needed to deliver, protect, troubleshoot, and operate the site.
How we use information
Information is used to provide and secure accounts, deliver community features, send verification and account-recovery messages, maintain profiles and avatars, moderate the forum, determine supporter or staff access, provide Web Novel features, troubleshoot the service, and operate features you choose to connect.
YouTube and Google API data
The Abalthiria Website Live Status integration uses Google OAuth for the Abalthiria channel owner and requests read-only YouTube access. The purpose is limited to determining whether the Abalthiria YouTube channel currently has an active live broadcast so the public website can display a simple Live or Offline indicator.
Authorization credentials for this integration are kept server-side and are not exposed to website visitors. The public indicator does not require visitors to sign in with Google and does not collect Google account information from visitors.
Google API Limited Use: Abalthiria's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Google API data is not sold, used for advertising, used to determine creditworthiness, or used to train generalized machine-learning or artificial-intelligence models. Access is limited to the functionality described above.
Twitch live status
The Twitch live-status feature uses server-side application credentials to ask Twitch whether the public Abalthiria channel is currently streaming. Visitors are not asked to connect a Twitch account, and the website does not need visitor Twitch account data to display the Live or Offline indicator.
Cookies and local storage
Secure cookies may be used for signed-in account sessions and related authentication functions. The Web Novel engaged-view counter may store a local timestamp in your browser solely to avoid recounting the same chapter view for 24 hours. We do not use the chapter-view counter for behavioral advertising or cross-site tracking.
Service providers and sharing
Abalthiria does not sell personal information. Information may be processed by service providers only as needed to operate the site and the features you request. Current providers include Cloudflare for hosting, database, storage, security, and delivery; Resend for transactional account email; Discord for optional sign-in/account linking; Patreon for optional supporter verification; Google/YouTube for the owner-authorized YouTube live-status integration; and Twitch for public channel live status.
Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect the site or its users, investigate abuse or security incidents, or enforce site rules.
Retention and deletion
Account and community information is retained while needed to provide the service, maintain community integrity, satisfy security or moderation needs, or meet legal obligations. Connected-service records may be removed when the connection is disconnected or the associated account is deleted, subject to limited records that may need to be retained for security, moderation, or legal reasons.
You may remove your avatar and disconnect supported account connections through available profile controls. For access, correction, privacy, or deletion requests that are not available directly in the site interface, contact contact@abalthiria.com.
Security
Abalthiria uses HTTPS, secure session cookies, server-side secrets, access controls, and hosted storage/database services to reduce the risk of unauthorized access. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the site changes. Material changes will be reflected on this page by updating the effective date or accompanying notice.
